Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 September 2026
Yisdom is built to need as little of your data as possible. We use no advertising cookies, no analytics trackers, and no third-party ad networks. We store only the small amount of information needed to make the site, the oracle and the credit system work. This policy explains exactly what that is.
What we collect
Your reading, question and context
When you consult the oracle, your question, its context and the cast are held in your browser (local storage), not on our servers. Saved readings live only in that browser and disappear if you clear your browser data. We never see them unless you choose to post them to the circle or convene the Council (see below).
An anonymous wallet
To count your free readings and any credits you buy, we set one small signed cookie containing a random identifier — no name, no email. That identifier maps to a row in our database recording how many free readings you have used and how many credits you hold. It is not linked to your identity.
Forum posts
The reading circle is public and anonymous. Anything you type there is visible to everyone and stored in our database. Please do not post information that identifies you or others. We keep a visitor's IP address only briefly, in memory, to prevent spam and abuse; we do not store it in the database.
Payments
If you buy credits, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us; we receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded and the number of credits to add. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
The Council of guides
If you convene the Council, the text you entered (your question, context and the hexagram) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the reflection. We do not store that text on our servers, and the guides are instructed to summarise rather than repeat anything sensitive. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com. If the Sky Watcher guide performs a web search, only a neutral query (such as today's moon phase) is sent.
Basic server logs
Like any website, our host may keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, request time, page) to run and secure the service. These are not used to profile or track you.
What we do not do
- We do not run advertising or use ad, analytics or social-media tracking cookies.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
- We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other websites.
- We do not require an account, a name or an email to read the oracle.
Third parties we rely on
We use a small number of providers purely to run the service: Stripe for payments, Anthropic for the Council, our hosting provider for the server and database, and Google Fonts to load two typefaces (which may see your IP address when a page loads). Each processes data only to provide its part of the service.
Cookies we set
- wid — your anonymous wallet identifier (free-reading count and credits). Signed, HTTP-only, lasts up to a year.
- adm — set only if you sign in to the admin panel. Signed, HTTP-only, short-lived.
That is the complete list. There are no others.
Your choices and rights
You can clear the site's data at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and local storage; this removes your saved readings and your wallet cookie. Because we hold no information that identifies you, we usually cannot connect data to a named person. If you have posted to the circle and want a post removed, or you have any privacy question, email us at [email protected] and we will help.
Children
Yisdom is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and post the new version here. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
