How a reading works here
1 · Open the portal
A ring of the bell, three slow breaths, and a sincere question. Sincerity, not belief, is the only requirement.
2 · Cast
Three coins, six times, from the bottom up. Or toss your own coins at the kitchen table and type in what you got.
3 · Read
The hexagram, its two trigrams, the changing lines and the hexagram it becomes — then the Council speaks, and you decide what it means.

I Ching questions, answered
Is the I Ching fortune-telling?
No. The I Ching does not predict events. It gives you a hexagram, and you relate its image to your situation — a mirror for reflection rather than a forecast.
How do I ask the I Ching a good question?
Ask about your own stance in an open form, such as “How should I approach…”. Yes/no questions get thin answers. Add a little context about what has happened and what you already suspect.
Are the online coin casts random?
Yes. Casts use your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, the same source used for security keys, so nobody — including us — can influence or see them. You can also toss real coins and enter the results.
Is a reading free?
The built-in reading — hexagram, trigrams, changing lines and where it tends — is free and unlimited. The optional AI Council gives a few free readings, then small credit packs.
