YisdomYour wisdom for the changing moment

Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 September 2026

Welcome to Yisdom. By using this website you agree to these terms. Please read them; they are written to be understood. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What Yisdom is

Yisdom is a website for learning about and consulting the I Ching (the Book of Changes), including an interactive oracle, an AI-assisted "Council" reading, a public reading circle, and educational content. It is provided for reflection, education and entertainment.

2. Not advice, not prediction

Nothing on Yisdom is professional advice of any kind. Readings — whether built-in or generated by the Council — do not predict the future and are not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional guidance. You are solely responsible for any decision you make. If you are in crisis or distress, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. You use the oracle and act on your own reflections at your own discretion and risk.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age where you live) to use the site, and old enough to enter a binding agreement to buy credits.

4. Free readings and credits

5. Refunds

Because credits deliver a digital service immediately, purchases are generally non-refundable once credits have been used. If the Council fails to produce a reading due to a fault on our side, or you were charged in error, email [email protected] and we will make it right, typically by restoring credits or issuing a refund for unused credits at our discretion.

6. Acceptable use

When using the reading circle or any interactive feature, you agree not to:

We may remove any content and restrict access at any time, especially content that is abusive, spam, or harmful.

7. Your content in the circle

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant Yisdom a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute that content on the site so it can be shown to other visitors. You are responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to post it.

8. Our content

The hexagram paraphrases, explanatory text, page design and the Council workflow are © 2026 Yisdom. The I Ching itself is an ancient work in the public domain; any translations linked from the site belong to their translators and publishers. You may quote briefly with a link; please ask before reproducing more.

9. Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links, marked as such, that may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. They do not change what we recommend.

10. Third-party services

The site relies on third parties including Stripe (payments) and Anthropic (the Council). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

11. Availability and changes

We offer the service "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, and features may occasionally be unavailable. We may update these terms; the current version always lives on this page, and continued use means you accept the changes.

12. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yisdom is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any reading will be accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yisdom and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any decision made or action taken in reliance on the site; and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yisdom and its operators from claims arising out of your use of the site, your content, or your breach of these terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled by the courts there. Nothing here removes rights you may have as a consumer under your local law.

15. Contact
